Questions on G/S ST battery

I need a new battery for my ST. Been awhile since I've bought one. What's a good brand and source? Would like a dry cell. Also, how do you strap down the smaller batteries, smaller then stock? The rubber straps are too big and interfer w the terminals.

I recently went for the Odyssey which came w/ terminal (L) adapters.

Wood shims under the straps.

Lately I've been doing business with BatteryStuff.com. No affiliation other than satisfied customer.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered their least expensive of three batteries listed for my R80 ST(Which happened to be the same basic kind - Scorpion AGM - as I bought from them for my F 650 a while back). It turned out that the one they showed in stock was damaged and unshippable (first clue to a conscientous service mentality). Long delay until they could get more of that model so I sent an inquiry message. They called me the next business day and offered me the next upgrade, an Odyssey PC 680 P at a discounted price for my inconvenience. More good customer service.

Got the battery on schedule. That PC 680 model is the same width & height as most airheads it seems. But is a little thinner from thefront to back, but the straps should hold it just fine. And as mentioned in a post above comes with terminal adapters.

Kudos to BatteryStuff for taking care of the customer. And they actually talk to you - sometimes back and forth between the person(s) with the answers you want until you get it sorted out. I like doing business with them.

Edit: Hardwregrrl slipped in while I was typing. Her source comes out to about the same price as my deal. So ya picks your best choice and roll from there. And my discount was probably a one- off for inconvenience. Do your comparisons while shopping.

I bought 2 of these and they have done ok under light service - result of some healing I've been doing. They are ridiculous light. This is a good read if you are thinking about Shorai

Some people seem to be having luck with anti gravity.
