not allowed.

the sign on it's own is forbiddung entry for any car / motorcycle. the sign
from previous post says the same with the exception of vehicles for use
on farmland. agricultural use only.

Round signs with a red border are signs prohibiting something, in case all motorized traffic.

Not to be an ass, but how did you get a drivers license when you don't even know the simplest of road signs? Do you even know the rules of the road or do you just drive the way you feel is right?

If you move to Germany, you don't have to get the german license for 6 month or so...

This signs are very typical for Europe, but here in the states they keep it much simpler

As for me I do have an international drivers license as well as a military license for germany. It was just that I had seen the sign in passing months ago and I couldn't recall what is was, sign or wording. I went by today and it is apparently a sign that allows access only to people living or working along the road (cars or motorcycles) A shame as it i nice little route. There are some single lane roads up in the Taunus hills I run on some times but they are paved, great tree lined routes, but not exactly the same thing.

Simple, move to Germany, go to the Strassenverkehrsamt, ask for a licence

. They switched my Canadian one over on my merit of good looks.

Is it just me or do the road signs seem to be counter-intuitive?

This means 5.5 tonnes is allowed

This means 60 km/h is allowed

But this means no motorcycles?

hmm.. fooled me!

Yep,it´s not a dual sport heaven here in german land

Only way to have fun on those gravel trails is by mountainbike...

( i know,it´s not the same)

BTW, those that might want to brush up on their sign knowledge might want to use this resource they recently advertised on the local AFN radio station.

USAREUR practice test (.com) is a site that has a number of good resources on it even if you aren't associated with the military. It has practice guides and tests as well as just sign matching sections. The practice tests have some USAREUR specific content in it that you might not need, but the practical questions are all appropriate and helpful.

Take a look if you need to brush up on things.

Hej everyone,

I´m back on ADV - was "OFF" the whole time, - to much work and family-business - my son is riding too now, starts is moto-carrier beginning end of August on a Yami XT660 X - he rides until now about 6500 k´s. So I rode a lot the last to month´s with him. That´s reason I´m not often here at ADV

But now days are getting shorter and I have time to sit in front...of the ADV....

Yes that means not motorcycels, but you should now the possible punishment in case of disobedience - its 20 Euros.

I wouldnt necessary disobey this sign all the time but occasionally do so. If nobody writes down your plate and calls police then no trouble anyway.
If you ever get stopped regard the 20 Euros as an entrance fee.........
