Running condition, $1,000. Lowered, Porsche discs and drums, Porsche cookie cutter wheels, new tires. I guess I should do a flea market ad for it.

$1000?! Oh crap.......I might have to talk to you about that.

Nice work, Ben. A while back I inherited a Columbia Twosome circa 1950 from my aunt. It was a wreck.

My son and I tore it down and had the parts powder coated.

Remember those internal hub three-speed bikes? Well now they make 7 and 15 speed internal hubs also. I knew my kids and I wouldn't be able to ride a single speed tandem around Woodland Park easily so we fitted a 7 speed hub to it (the 15 speed is stupid-expensive). The hub is very easy to fit to a single speed frame, but it makes changing the back tire more complicated.

It's a fun bike and was a great project.

Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the results.

Dude, nice job on the bike, I really like seeing someone take the time to restore something.

Those are some sweet VWs, I like that Ghia! Obviously you're a VW affectionado, I'm with ya.

This was the start of my downfall, circa 1973

Then came a '73 Formula Vee, sorry for the crappy scan.

It died by fire, crashed into by an airplane, no shit!

Later came the '66, sweet ride

It's was a little down on HP, needed some help

2110 stroker, all the bells & whistles, hauled ass till it went swimming in Katrina. The '66 drowned in 5' of saltwater, check the line out on the garage door

Swapped out the motor, all electrical and the 66 lives on! It will never be the same though

Got a 59 after that.

Headed west, got a waterboxer

Hit the Dez

After rolling it twice something a little more serious was needed.

2110, 6 rib, 12" travel, yada yada

Does ok

Sorry for the Hijack
I dig VWs too

^^^

That '66 was sweet! I like the interior set up too, with the bamboo parcel tray and the Scat (maybe Empi) shifter!

The Ghia is now sold. It got taken to a new home yesterday.
I'll do another VW someday. Either a '62 finally, or another '67.
Before then though, I might help my g/f find a bus for her teenage daughter. I got a line on a straight looking good running bay window in Ft. Collins.

Slight hijack:
I've had better luck using a digital camera in macro mode rather than scanning.

VW nut since '71 but presently VeeDubLess. Just sold my '65 DoubleCab.

Detour over.

Time for some updates.

The birthday is less than a week away, and the bike is finished.

Presenting the refurbished 1957 Hawthorne Ladies Cruiser
