I've had it for 3 or 4 years now, very pleased with it.

Uverse rocks.

I've had it for just under a year. Internet speed is good, except when it isn't. We also lose one or two TV channels every once in a while. About once a month, I'll reboot the modem and things seem to get happier.

We don't really use the landline much, so I can't comment on that other than to say that the on-screen caller ID on the TV was awesome during election season.

Have had it for a couple of years now, dropped the U-Verse TV and kept the
AT&T internet upload speed 1.25 with 15.5 Mbps download, plenty fast for a Roku.
No negative issues with the service, being AT&T that's kinda strange.

I've had it in two houses, and had a tech replace a gateway on the 2nd. Techs always on time, professional, and competent. Good so far...

$39 per month in NE Ohio - internet only. Just did a test 10.60mbps down, .82 up. No real complaints, but like others stated, they are a nightmare when it comes to customer service.

It isn't a landline. We had a landline for a decade with AT&T before switching to UVerse and figured that out the first time the power went out. If the gateway/modem loses power you have no landline, even if you have an old corded phone.

I had the 24mbps Uverse internet-only service in Florida and didn't have any problems. The speed was great (and more or less as-advertised) and everything just worked. I'm biased towards Verizon, but aside from that I really wouldn't hesitate to go for Uverse again if it were an option where I live.

Same deal with me. Had the TV/internet package, dropped TV. I've had the same issues people here mention- their gateway goofs once in a while, but I kill power, let it reboot and it seems fine. I had no idea I could use my own wireless router- I may have to look in to that, although for the one time a month I have problems, I'm not sure it's worth it.
The last time I did a speedtest, I was getting 5mb/s down, 0.58 up, but that's on the wireless machine in the back office. The wired system in the living room typically does a bit better. I think I'm paying about $25/month. I have no real complaints.

I have it, because it's the only option that isn't Comcast. The techs who have come to the house are good guys, but the people who answer phones are morons.

It's $45 bucks a month, fairly reliable, and fast enough for Netflix. I mostly work from home, and am online all day. It's better than DSL, but way slower than cable.

The 2Wire modem is a POS, and it's HUGE. I just had the house rewired, so I put the 2Wire in the garage, and ran CAT5 to my real router.

If there was an alternative, I'd leave AT&T as quickly as I could.

Sadly here in silicon valley where most of the network technology used in Digital Subscriber Lines (u-verse is also) there are very few high speed internet options. Many areas only have DSL and are of poor quality giving the aged infrastructure.
I have a friend with a business next to San Jose air port who can not get anything except shitty end or line DSL (u-verse) and T1 which is still too expensive for 1.5mbps. Seems to me Mobile high speed will over take wired infrastructure here before its worth upgrading the copper. I get ~2.4- 2.8mbps on my iPAD.

Not that it will matter to most but u-verse uses a class C IP range routed internally to AT&T (in the bay area).

Good luck wth U-verse and DSL.... I'll pay the extra for comcast 20Mbps as long as they don't start throttling their service.
I can rant here for hours!

I just switched from ATT verse to Comcast.

Here are some things I've noticed.

With Uverse I could record 2 HD shows and watch a 3rd. Comcast you only get 2 HD streams, record or watch your choice.

Att 2Wire box sucked for XBox. Comcast all in one box is just as bad. I'm probably going to have to buy my own router.

Over all ATT wasn't bad, they just kept creeping up the rates. After you cancel they try to get you back with lower rates but at that point I was like "FU, you had your chance."

I use WOW. Download is 15.5 Mb/sec. Phone is Vonage. I quit Comcast. What a bunch of arrogant fucks.

U-verse came around, and I told them that I wanted nothing to do with their lines because I went to Vonage to get away from the crappy festoon of phone lines on the poles behind me that had bad connections and always dumped me when I used dial-up and DSL. I told them to let me know when they were ready to bring a fiber line into the house.

From my experience, your experience on dial up and dsl can have essentially no relationship whatsoever to uverse performance on the same lines into your house...

Must be magic then. When you get a complete disconnect when the wind blows, how does the data get through?

I still have too many bad memories of crap service and high rates from those people. Just like Comcast, when you're the only one, you get arrogant.

Their equipment or "gateway" modem/wireless thingy has been replaced four times at my house and they won't send a tech to do it. Then you have to go to a ups store to ship it back to them.

Great when it's working but we have regular outages.
Plus 100. I would rather be beat than have to ever deal the idiots at@t again!

Verizon 3G works better than anything at@t will ever have.
