Which front tire size to buy?

The stock front on my old xt250 is 3.00 X 21. I see that the Pirelli MT-90 A/T is available in 2 sizes: 80/90S and 90/90S. I did see a cross reference chart for dirt and street tires but unsure which category that Pirelli falls into.

im sure both will fit, the 90 90 is a little wider but i always went for the bigger wider front tires in the 21 inch size.

Go with the 90/90 tire. A little wider and taller than a 3X21, but the 80/90 has a shorter sidewall. Your rims will appreciate it.

The inch tires are as tall as they are wide. The the first number of a metric measurement is the width, the second is height as a percentage of the first number.

Thats what the measurements are supposed to mean, but the tires actually can be different depending on the manufacturer.
