Webb WMA open 11-14-2012

Hey people, it's coming up on the brief time each year the Webb WMA in SW FL is open for riding.
At the time of this posting, it's general gun season, so you _can_ ride regulation wise, but I personally don't because it's not fair to the hunters.

The small game season is hardly used by hunters at all, so it's the best time to ride. That's November 14 through January 13 (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays only) and November 23.

i'm sure once kyle gets down here we will check it out. that place stays pretty wet though. i went out there with my jeep last year and there were plenty of spots where the water was over my hood .

I went out there last year. It was a fun day ride. Maybe I'll camp this time and spend the weekend.

These are from last Saturday. It was a spur of the minute ride.
Most of the trails are dry, but not too loose and sandy (yet). A little less water than this time last year.

Still plenty of wet spots if that's where you like to be.

Some of my favorite riding is in the grassy areas like this.

Fishing holes for those with poles. This one had several gators but they are camera shy.

A pit crew is great to have. These folks who were kind enough to bring along the grill and coolers. I know some bikes have those as options, but not on the DRZ. Life is good.

Mike, We'll definitely ride out there again this year! I'm bring down both bikes, so will have the option of GS or DRZ. Maybe the weekend following Thanksgiving weekend?

Kyle, looking forward to it. Luckily for me I'm only 40 minutes away, so I can go on short notice.

On the downside, work is going to be extra busy for me this December, so I'll probably miss some rides.

Great weather for a ride. All the improved roads were high and dry,some areas are being graded and have lose gravel. The sand on the unimproved roads is dry and lose. I dropped the DR once but since no one was around to take pictures it really didn't happen. All together nice place for a ride

Looks like you guys were having fun. maybe next time we go i should trailer my bike with my Jeep. I have a cool little charcoal grill i bought for Jeepin. E could have a good lunch and i could vary extra gas and cooler etc.

Beware of the trees out there that like to jump in your way!!!! Tree mating incidents hurt, alot!! LOL>.............still was a fun ride, even the 3 hours home after we pieced the bike together and got it out!!!

We had no problems with trees this time, just a few muddy and sandy spots. 51% and I had a great day of riding out there!
