I think the trick is to avoid a thick coat. I put a few thin coats on and it seems ok, dry to the touch, doesn't scrape off. But until we get some miles and dirt involved, it's a bit of an experiment. The guy who started this trend has had good results, I don't claim this as my idea, just copied his paint choice...

Glad you like it, that's what makes building these toolboxes worth doing.

ADVGear.net closed for December
I have boxes ready to ship for the next week, then I'm shutting down for December to go ride someplace warm. Boxes will be shipping again after the first of the year.
Thanks for all those who have bought, or looked at the toolboxes. I'm gratified by your response. Dave Palmer I'll get email sporadically at dave@advgear.net

Product looks good Dave, and rightly priced............too bad I don't own/ride a Beemer. I think you are on to something. Many KLR/Vstrom folks buy/build a round tool tube and secure it to their rear racks. Much unused space remains in the "hole" where the tool tube resides. An "oblong/rectangular/weird-shaped" flat sided tool box might be a welcome addition where more space could be utilized?? Maybe something for you to check into after the Holidays??? Seems you have had a very positive response here already.........why not expand your product (maybe even to "custom" shapes)??
