This Thread is great. I read through it before I received my Montana and was ready with all the software when it arrived. Thanks... Leon |

Mine sees the satellites just fine from the basement of a 2.5 story house.
Not issues under heavy pine forests yet either.

Thanks, I tried that. It does not catch even with the unit not in the mount.

I have removed the Thai street map from the Garmin unit as I do not have the originals of the other 4 combined maps The error message went away, but the warnings are still there. I will have to live with that and see what happens when I enter Cambodia in a week or so Cheers TS

What are you guys liking for a protective carrying case to keep the unit in when not in use?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o02_s00_i00 The largest size fits a montana, plus charger, cord, etc. If you just need to protect the montana, the smallest one works great.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys!
FWIW, the Pelican 1040 Micro case seems to be appropriately sized to fit it as well. Can be found here on sale, although I did not try finding it cheaper as I have not pulled the trigger: http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp...73304.11045276
