I brought the 250 up for the long weskend. Got out for a while on some really greasy stuff between Beach Hill and Branch. Too many guys with blaze and guns. Sitting in Finns now while the wife is shopping. This place was cooler as Maidee's.

studded tires.

JWrider got it right about the long studs, much better in deep snow. The short studs however hold up a bit better on frozen ground and no snow. If you want to do ice on lakes and such then I think the cold cutter screws are the best.

Look for a member Mike and search for studded tires. Good alternative to Trellborgs.

SURE was a nice day...
I ALMOST took the Katoom out.
Rode my sled instead.

Rode it into the trailer, now waiting for snow.

Have you found a source for the studs?

Do you drill the holes right through, or to a certain depth?

For bare (ish) ice, I don't think I've seen a better set-up than yours. I was on a lake a couple of years ago with bunch of bikes all with different set-ups, and the screws seemed to be doing the fastest lap times. They won't hold up in the woods though.

Hello Maine folks,

Just back from a short stint in Colorado. Took a position that didn't work out. Have a new one lined up for Maine. I will need to reside around the Lewiston, Maine area. Don't need to be right in Lewiston, but somewhere relatively close.

At this point I'm looking for any info I can get. I will need to rent a house for while until I'm sure this will work out job wise. Then I will look to buy. I live in a rural area outside of town and would be looking to replicate that. I am just not much of a city dweller. I like to burn wood and have room to roam.

I live 9 miles from the Canadian border now. So I have a grasp on the winter weather for the most part.

But any info will be appreciated, weather, real estate, riding buddies, good areas to look at. Anything really.

Thanks in advance for your help.

LV.

I am selling my 2003 Kawasaki Ninja 250ex. The bike has less than 8k miles and is in decent shape. There are a few cosmetic issues, crack in the front cowling, dent in the tank, scratches along the bottom plastic. Mechanically it could use a little TLC. Carbs and oil were done in March, new rear tire and some other little things. May need a head gasket. Would make a great winter project or a great bike for a new rider who is willing to put the time in. Ran great while I was riding it but not enough time anymore. Asking 650.00 OBO, please email or text 207 891 nine 3 six 8.
