Cry 950 Adv Coolant in Oil ... Blown Engine?

KTM 950 Adv appears to be leaking coolant into the engine oil system. I fill the coolant reservoir, and the oil level goes up as the coolant level drops. Oil pressure warning light just came on, so no longer running the bike.

Is this an indication of a blown gasket, or worse?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Might be a water pump seal. Post this in Orange Crush for a better answer.

WP seal and shaft are standard wear items and often treated as PM, post or search Orange Crush for about 6000 of these threads. The paper in the filter swells and restricts oil flow hence the light, many have gotten out of the bush by laying the bike on the right side to contain the oil and removing the filter. Short term fix but good to keep in the back of your mind just in case.

Read here;

Shop here for a kit with an aftermarket hardened shaft and forget about it;

Don't sweat it though, it's fuck all to fix.

1. Water Pump seal
2. Main Clutch cover gasket
3. Head gasket

What year & how many miles? Sounds like water pump shaft/seal. Look for a wavy oil filter or spooge on your clutch cover. I replaced mine with the cj designs shaft and updated "grey" seal. My bearings looked new so I left them alone. Don't forget to pick up a new gasket because the old one will come apart in pieces. Its an easy fix. Good luck.

If you can run the engine try this check. http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....71&postcount=7
It worked for me, and after replacing head gaskets things are fine.

But note, there is no guarantee that it IS the gaskets or that it is ONLY the gaskets. I also had to replace waterpump at some stage.
