well Steve's plan turned to shit in a big way
He's been sitting in A&E for the last 5 hours or so waiting to have some cracked or broken ribs checked out. I'll let him fill you in on all the details but lets just say that there is a bank on the side of Odlins Rd that has an valve cover gouge about 1.5-2mts above track level. We now call it 'the wall of death' in honour of his advanced riding skills

Ah crap. I suppose the up side to waiting in A&E is that the injury isn't a priority...

apparently he is back home after spending the night in hospital (finally got seen at 1.30am - Wgtn A&E is such a shit place). Xrays showed some blood in the lungs so they kept him in. That will teach him to land backwards on the end of the klr handlebars....

DOC Clarence Reserve
While the DOC Clarence 4WD web page (a cobweb?) is stuck in 2011, I rang the South Marlborough area office last week and motorised access is proposed to be open again in January/February 2013.
January 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 February 1-3, 8-10 Friday 1200-1700, Sat/Sun 0800 – 1700. At this stage I am planning a long weekend excursion to have another look on the 8-10 weekend. This place is well worth the effort: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...post1130241797 Might try the BMW this time, now I have one that works (one with carburettors). Michael |
