this is a yurt on the cape


and the cool thing is you can bring A HEATER into the yurt and PLUG IN to electricity so it's WARM when you go to bed and STILL WARM when you wake up. I was like, wtf? I'm not freezing my tits off as I crawl outta bed to stumble to the bathroom (that is also heated!). It was like we were almost staying in a hotel except for the leaves, weird bugs and mould odor.

seriously boyz, we need to make a weekend to go out and enjoy this "south Jersey" riding. I felt like I was home!

Where on the cape are the urts?
And what was the riding situation? Legal trails? Or outlaw-ish stuff?

I found lots of sandy roads near Truro, they were legal and my minivan barely but made it through. There is a whole AF base that was abandoned and leveled, nothing left but the old roads. It's a 2 hour ride (on a good day) about 110 miles form Providence. Camped there many times (with family) great happy place.

Nickerson State Park - great place to camp.

Yurts are at Shawme-Crowell State Forest, Sandwich — open for camping all year with HOT water and flush toilets. There's even a shower for the filthy. Pure luxury. And Pete the ranger is super-awesome. A British Beer Company is right up the street.

Nickerson closes from October-May.

The riding was in Bourne and Wareham, and as far I know, every road we were on was a legal thoroughfare. We came upon one road/trail that was posted 'no ATVs, no motorized vehicles' that was part of a nature preserve, and we turned around. There were no gates anywhere.

I would never knowingly post non-legal riding on a public forum...don't give those bastards any fuel. Look what they're doing in my beloved Pine Barrens.

I still say we should aim for a March ride! It was fantastic. I had huge fires because there's so much downed wood in the campground.

I might be up for hosting a friday night camp out at my place and then yurts on saturday night with a mostly dirt transit in between. I have scouted out some dirt and a few local guides have pointed me in the right direction.

Your bike qualifies as medium.. 650 is medium in my book... I just dont want any bastards on GS1200's showing up thinking they can do the ride
