If you're beginning to think about where your big ride will be next season ... how to plan it, where it will take you, what you'll encounter ... Here's the solution you're looking for!

Many ADV riders have been lured into legendary inmate Dockingpilot's remarkable ride report on the grand loop previously titled Forever West.” (It’s now called Heart of the West Adventure Route to better reflect the epicocity of the experience.)

Many also have asked how they, too, can live that adventure by acquiring the detailed track file for this "trip of a lifetime ..." a 2,800-mile, 14-day total-immersion odyssey through the wildlands of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Nevada. (Note: Don't fret over the length. It's easily broken down into bite-size chunks. )

I developed the route for Dockingpilot and his crew's 2010 Western journey, relying on my years of research for my adventure-motoring guidebooks and magazine articles, as well as explorations specifically made for their trip. I've made further explorations since then, and benefited as well from the experiences, insights and feedback of adventurers who've traveled the route. Now this amazing and convenient loop is better than ever ... just in time for the 2013 ADV planning season (a.k.a. winter ).

Now you, too, can dodge the anxiety, cost and frustration of doing all that research yourself--and get that ADV vacation of a lifetime rolling the easy way! Join the growing number of ADV travelers experiencing an authentic American West adventure ... travelers who refuse to pay thousands of $$$ to be led on some 20-bike tour like toddlers on a walk around the block.
:

The deal: I do the work. You live the dream! For only $199, typically divided among participants, I license use of the detailed plug 'n play gpx track file. It's a great holiday gift!

Read more about this geographically diverse, logistically convenient and easily adaptable ADV route on my blog, Backcountry Byways Journal.

I’m happy to answer questions or discuss the route anytime! Just post, send a pm, or send an email to me at: backcountrybyways at gmail dot com.

In addition to the many outstanding photos you will see in ride reports, I’ve compiled an online Picasa Web album depicting the route. It is available here. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Byways

P.S. Heart of the West ADV Route can be tailored to your geographic, timing and logistical needs. Just ask. I'll customize it for you. Or if there's some other part of the Wild West you'd like to explore, again ... Just ask! I do custom routing, too!

Wink

As some of you may know, I've been rebuilding a motor for in my super beetle project. Well I got it all back together and running finally! It's now a 1641cc with a 2bbl webber carb and electronic ignition. Everything internal is new, crank,cam,rods,etc.,everything. Here is a quick vid of the initial start up and cam break in.

Ride Sunday?

Looks like I'll be in for some snow riding Sunday! Anybody wanna come along? Heading up into the Sproul forest, then over to Tioga to check out an old abandoned coal town!

Happy Yule, all you Bastards.

Looks like the Mayans may have been a little off. Guess that means we get to ride a little longer.

Have a wonderful holiday season and I will see you idiots next year.
