Mine had 2 bands in the bag. I didn't need them.

I think you only need the bands if you have skinny grips or those chrome "OCC" ones.

Craneguy is right, the bands aren't mandatory. They do serve a few different purposes when used though. Protecting and providing grip for metal grips. It can provide a more uniform surface on some grips with lots of surface molding. On grips with taper or levers that flare out dramatically it can help keep the omni straight.

Nick, I'll throw an extra in for you just in case.

Got mine Sat (ordered Wed). Haven't had a chance to use it as my FZ is currently missing its forks and shock. I did test fit it. May have some issues with it staying in the right place on my grips (Rizomas) as the end of the grip where you need to put it is curved. It kept wanting to slide out (toward the barend) instead of staying put, and that's without the vibrations of the bike running. Hopefully it'll work out.

One of my test riders used the red Rizomas. I WAS SHOCKED that the aluminum ISN'T EVEN GLUED to the rubber. It is free floating. He used the band to keep the omni still (worked great) but the aluminum sleeve occasionally rotated slowly but according to him it was still very effective. I tried and tried to "test ride" his new bike but he wouldn't let me... so I had to take his word for it.
