Anyone done a ride through Sri Lanka? Off road potential? Easy to find your way around? Me and a couple of mates are planning an overseas trip again and Sri Lanka is now top of the list, interesting history and beautiful countryside, easy to get to from Oz and trail bike rental is dirt cheap... can any one offer us any wisdom? We are looking at late august or early september.
Cheers

I've replied to this in the aus thread, Did a quick lap over a week, covered about half of the island.
I'd look into going to the philippines... Its seriously alot of fun! |

Hi, toured the island in 07, very friendly place and as u say dirt cheap. The west is very very busy, the east is more rural and enjoyable. Highlights; tea plantations near Kandy and Aragum bay. Got some trail riding NW of Kandy but make sure you're out the bushes before dark, the wildlife can be scary, big snakes, reptiles, alligators and elephants. Andy
