The day was warm enough for a ride, the water was not.
Today I rode a short trail loop to the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the air temperature was in the low 30's. Everything was going great until I fell down in a frozen puddle. Luckily the bike was easy enough to pickup and started right back up for me. On the way home the heated grips didnt have enough power to keep my glove from freezing and I suffered a minor bit of frost bite on one finger tip. If I didnt have waterproof gear on I think things would have been bad. Just throwing it out there for people to think about.

best way to warm up your hands quickly is to piss on them. next time this happens, just shove your hands in crotch, squat down, and let her flow.

^ +1 I do this in my wetsuit all the time.
Sometimes the water is just too damn cold, ya know? I'm not ashamed. ![]()

I saw that in a movie once, i think the riders got stuck together from the cold, probably because they werent wearing wetsuits.
