1. I removed the line from the tank to the disconnect.
2. I removed the line from disconnect to injector.
3. I got a piece of line about 30 inches long (don't quote me on the length). This is run from the tank past the injector down to the filter.
4. The piece of line that was removed from the tank/disconnect is now from the filter to the injector.

That garage is full of Hondas. At least 10 if you only count the ones with tires and an engine in the frame. Only 3 if you count >100cc. It's hard to get away from them. Now that you mention it, Last year I had that 750 all loaded up for a trip to Birmingham. It was idling in the drive, I had my helmet on and twisted the throttle to clean it out and the cable snapped. I had to unload it and took the KTM instead. I didn't ride it again until this summer.

I'll be camping Friday, and Saturday night.

I had 2006 640sm, didn like the uneven ride at "steady" RPM and I could hear all bearings from machine + vibrations.

Hope that smc is better

So my 690 was running good, now it will start and idle for a couple minutes then it dies.... when I try to restart, it just cranks and cranks but wont come to life unless I leave it for half hour or so... fuel pump?

Mine just did something similar, unpredictable cutting out at idle - turned out to be a dodgy side stand switch/wiring.

Those are the same symptoms mine had and they went away after a fuel pump swap out to the ca-cycleworks pump. Listen for the whirr of your fuel pump when turning the key on. Mine wasn't making the priming noise all the time.

+1, I sold my SXV 550 and kept the 690.

Isn't the fuel filter there for the pump, not just the injectors?

Not possible, the pump is at the very start of the line. The screen protects the pump.
