I am interested to see how the CE protection works when it is fitted in the jacket instead of a pressure suite... Any thoughts on that??

Well, I've used them for the past 4 years with no issues so I know it works. Those of you that have seen the DVD Salt and Gold will remember that I used the prototype back in 2009 when I rode across the Sahara Desert.

It's far more comfortable that a pressure suit or hard armour and the major advantage is that you only have one item to deal with. When it's hot and you stop, you are down to your t-shirt (Lyndon Poskitt Racing synthetic t-shirt of course ) within seconds.

Back, elbows, shoulders (including frontal coverage) and chest, all taken care of in the jacket.

I really like the new jacket! I've been wishing Klim would make exactly that jacket ever since I traded my Adventure for a Badlands and had to give up the harness and hydration pocket to get more venting and front armour.

I hope they make it available to us mortal soon!

It is going to be available early next year

It might not be available in awesome blue with my sponsors on it but the design is being put into production (or at least that's what I was told when I visited the factory earlier this year).

Which Leatt (or similar) are you using? Does the outer jacket fit over it well?

If you read my blog post that I linked in this forum (I post links as it is very time consuming posting all the details on 6 different forums), you'll see pictures of it with the Leatte and understand what collar options come with the jacket. It's all in there.

Basincally, I'm using a Leatte GTX Pro Carbon and will run with no collar. The jacket is designed to hold the Leatte in place by hooking over the shoulder tabs on the brace. It has a Leatte collar too which fits over the neck brace comfortably and is Goretex. Won't be needing that in South America though.

I would consider bringing the collar, the stages up high in the Atacama desert get freezing cold even in the summer, literally.

Is your jacket just a blue version of the Adventure Rally 2 or is it modified somehow? I really like what I have seen of it so far, like Yeti said it looks to combine all the benefit of the AR 1 and the Badlands.
