I upped my counter sprocket to a 16 about a year ago and absolutly love it. Doesn't really change your fuel mileage but just winds out longer and cruises better. About a 500 rpm change at speed.

I'd like to see a comparison of all three: RPM's/w OEM sprocket(how many teeth?) vs. 16 , vs. 17? thanks!
FWIW, my R1150R gets 40-45+ mpg loaded.

Stock sprocket is 15 teeth. Suppose you were doing X speed at 6000rpm with a 15 tooth sprocket. You would be running 5600rpm with a 16tooth, 5300 with a 17tooth.

Take a look at http://www.gearingcommander.com/. You can compare the sprockets you are wondering about.
