I opened sign up (but not payment or anything) last night... you can sign up inside your NASA Rally Sport account at http://www.nasarallysport.com/main/database-log-in . No entry lists are being published just yet, give that a bit.

Ready to just ride more than anything. Haven't put more than a mile on the bike since I've had it. I was in SC of the Thanksgiving and was really wishing I had a bike with me, temps in the 60-70's.

Lights cut off is 385,,,, so Dakar class this year.

Oh yea, forgot about that. Last time I was in that class, I was on the 400.
Someone with a 350 KTM could do real well in that class. The 2013 XC-F is putting out close to 50 HP and they handle great!

No, sorry, this was in West VA...I screwed the pooch on the very first stage, on the very first day. Broke a weird bone in my ankle.

I talked with Him on the phone a few weeks ago and He sounded pretty good!
Mentioned trying to get down to SB to volunteer and hang out. I hope He does.
I plan on being at the registration desk on Friday morning like last year. We had fun busting balls and raising hell

Thinking about trailering down from Ohio for this... But have absolutely zero experience riding sand. Most of my time is spent on fast gravel roads or at the MX track banging around. Do the occasional leisurely dual-sport ride on two-track and relatively easy single track.

RallyWV terrain/roads are very familiar to me, have spent a lot of time in the area on larger bikes. Would Sandblast be a good intro to RallyMoto or should I wait for RallyWV? Weapon of choice would be a 2009 KTM 530EXC.

Hey guys, I don't know if I can pull it off but I might try and run this, the question I have is can I just show up and run or do I have to do everything prior to the event?

You should be fine.... the sand makes the bikes wander and wiggle around at high speed and that is a bit disconcerting at first. The deepest sand tends to be in tight corners,,,, pick a line, lean back and stay on the gas.

You could do it that way, it will cost more in the way of late registration fees. Sign up ahead of time to get most of the paperwork done and then pay when you get there.

I can't wait! First time rally for me, the Dakar class also. Bike is all ready and I have been reading the rule books like a good boy .

I'm really leaning towards doing this rally strictly because in the Adventure Heavy class I can run my 990 at my speed/comfort/ability level and learn what all this rally stuff entails.
