The gates on the west side of cow were open today. I live right down the road for cow and I'm always wantin to go for a ride. Looks like its going to be rainy for a little while though, I'll get to see how good my new rain suit keeps me dry

Rode thru Lake County last weekend. Good ride. Started from Sonoma to Oakville on 29, took the Oakville crossing to Siverado Trail then Butts Canyon to Middletown. Onto 178 towards Cobb Mtn, followed Bottle Rock Road to 29 again ended up on Highland Springs road rode the dirt and mud for a while until we got to a hill with large rocks. I've just had my GSA for two weeks, so we turned around, found the road to Hopland Grade then headed back south to Sonoma. Nice ride, beautiful weather, will do it again, I'm sure. Probably even follow Highland Springs road to the end next time.

I think you were on 175...

Highland Springs Road with large rocks? That's a new one to me. My recollection of that road from June was that it's pretty easy and graded. Sure you were on the right track?

I imagine after the 5-10 inches of rain we just got, Cow is closed? I'm in Redwood Valley and often ready for a few hours of trail riding in our back yard. Let us know the status if you go up there. NOAA says sunny today and tomorrow, then rain again.

After this much rain Cow is going to be closed for a while. I'd say two
weeks from experience, that's without too much more rain.

You can always check this link.
If the gate in the picture is closed so is Cow.

Bad timing because of the rain, but I'm looking to start riding regularly again.

I usually go to cow through the Lakeport exit.

Anyone down to go in the near future, let me know!

I'm pretty much available any day besides Mon/Tues.

EDIT: Guess I should add, I want trail riding only. I have a plated bike, but not too interested in riding on asphalt.

Cow Saturday?

Thinking of going to Cow Saturday before it rains again.

Maybe around 9 in the west side staging area. Usually earlier
but I think it might be a little chilly.

Trail ride, not big bike friendly.

Anyone interested?

I'm a wee bit under the weather at the moment, but if I feel better I may be up for it.

Dean,
Look for a bunch of us from SF and Santa Rosa. I'm not sure how many will be there since I'm not in charge, but at least 5 or 6. We may be a little later than 9 since the plan is to eat breakfast in Hopland at 8.
fun fun

Sonoma Country rider here.

Picked up up this baby a couple of months ago.

Hopefully, I'll do more riding during the spring and summer. But on occasion, with weather and temperature permitting, I'll ride her this winter. I just haven't sprung for the proper gear...black leather jacket with various patches, 3/4 gold flake helmet, goggles, scarf....

Hey I wanna come. I'm still relatively new to the area (santa rosa) though. Anyone care to fill me in on what bike to bring or where exactly the parking lot is?
