Dr650 decomp, do I need it?

Hey, iv just about finished putting 94 dr650 back together just after 3rd gear failed.
My model has electric start, and a decompression solenoid, but there's no leaver for it and never was.
Am I right to assume I can just bin all the decompression gear then?!?

Electric start singles would have an automatic decompressor,
with no lever.

It's not likely the starting system will be able to get the engine
over TDC without the decompressor connected and working properly.
