You can mark (index) the tire to the rim before dismounting, and then return it to the same place after repair.

Might dodge the rebalance.

You are certainly more OCD than I am, and I'm pretty bad, but if the knobs are still on the tire and the tire on the bike I'm happy. I can't tell the difference between a balanced 908 and an unbalanced 908.

They are the 31L. As you probably know, they're also available in (I think) a 38L and 45L size. I was worried that the 31's would be too small, but I think they're gonna work just fine for me. I had BMW System cases on my R1150GS and on my F650GS. I don't remember what the capacity was on those, but these seem comparable in size.
