Ecuador eh?
![]() I think import export costs and shipping would be a little too high. ![]() Anyway, first stop was Stooper america, $22 exchange. F that. ![]() Next stop Home Depot $17.82 later and I'm full again.

Yeah a 20# tank should hold 4.5 gallons which is 80%. You only fill them to 80 because your actually just burning the fumes off the top. I know Blue Rhino and several of the other exchanges only put 3.5 gallons in the tanks. Some of the refill places also charge you for a full tank even if they only top it off which is insane. We refill tanks at our families gas station in west TN. A 20# tank is $18 plus tax, or $4 per gallon.

Propane is 68 cents a liter if you fill it with the automotive propane pump. A twenty pound take usually takes less than seven bucks.
Trouble is its hard to find anyone in the states that will fill it from the automotive filler.

Around here it is U-Haul (refill - I do not exchange), 3.99/gallon incl. tax.
My tanks are seldom fully empty, since when I know I'm going to use propane I will usually have the tank filled on my way to/from work when I pass it. So I'm not sure what a full 20#'er comes to, but I had one empty, one partially empty, and a partly empty 11# tank I use for camping, and all three were filled for ~30 bucks. I'm not sure if you get 4.5 gallons in an empty 20#, they advertise that they fill them all the way up, but regardless, you only pay for metered volume, and their pump has an inspection stamp same as the gas station. |

Check Costco (if you're a member). They installed a fill station at ours last year.
