Looks good on the bike as well, I never liked the look of cut down standard shields.
Any chance you've got any pics for us?

Wow!
The black gloss poly coated ones look stock. Maybe even better than the CF look.
Let me know if any of the black ones become available.
I would be happy to try one of them on my bike too.

After fearing decapitation all day yesterday on the whoops out to the Husky Monument, I got jealous of Catalina's and ordered the Moose Shorty for $55 from Rocky Mountain.

Here is an action packed parking lot shot Note the lack of scratches, it looked a little more used by the end of the day.

after months of failures and successes , research and fabricating , consulting with experts, stacks of expensive wasted experimental parts, I finally perfected the mold process and finally have a perfect part for my bike , not patched and topcoated like previously, I finally have the real deal , Infusion molded with UV protective resin
decided to sell some of these to recoup my investment of making the perfect windscreen for my bike

hopefully i wont get banned for spamming but I wanted to report that I finally finished successfully what I began here and wont continue to post about it because it violates the forum rules, once I sell some I become a "vendor" and not just a hobbiest showing off my craft

I started a thread over at "Vendors" and hope to sell a few to recoup some of my materials and R&D costs since I have an infusion mold now, may as well put it to good use
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=844817

this was so difficult and frustrating , Im glad its finally done
got the ispiration on this thread to learn how to do vacuum infusiom
hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars later , I have a rubber top infusion mold and a perfect part on my bike
(sigh)

The windshield looks great!
Do you have any pics from the cockpit side! Is there enough place for a navi on the cockpit-top?
Will you ship to Europe?

here is a quick unflattering photograph I just took of the cockpit side
it is a sport style fairing not rally style which is why the windflow is so drastically improved
it is safer riding off road also without that guillotine in your face
not much instrument room only 4" from top of dash , 45 degree angle speeds up the air instead of creating drag

I dont mind shipping to Europe , I have had no problems so far
just did Finland and Australia recently

did you guys go in to the Husky the back way up the sand wash that comes in from the south ?

I love railing that sandwash at high speed , its freaking awesome on a 950 , I like when it narrows down into the trail ,
not many people know about how to find that way in

Thanks all ,
Let me know how these are holding up. They should be good now since they are infusion molded with UV resitant resin .
So far I have sold 19 parts but barely at the break even point after all the $ investment , (well negative if I count the hours spent) .
Had one complaint /refund for flaws in the carbon face , but I re-sold that one after it was sent back to me.

If anyone has problems let me know, I will try to make it good. These are handcrafted parts and almost impossible to get perfect. The earlier ones ( first five ) were especially difficult and I dont want anyone to feel ripped off

the new mold / infusion system is much better but I did a failure yesterday , pulled it out of the mold and there was a flaw on the face. I have a scrap pile 11 parts deep . When I get a failure it is depressing and I just want to quit and sometimes it delays shipping but that has only happened 4 times , I try to have product before putting it up for sale. I have destroyed two molds getting parts stuck, wasted 11 parts and failed so many times I just wanted to quit so many times. Then I got in so deep I couldnt quit . I have never had so many failures and tried so hard at something with so little profit
it is at the point where I am not doing this for the money but more for the challenge that I refuse to fail
It is getting smoother .but still not easy making these . Injection molded by a factory would be nice, but they would not be the aerospace carbon quality
thanks for sticking with me

still runnin

The CF looks great! Moose sells a tinted polycarbonate screen about the same size for $55. I'll be heading down that path.

yep have at it , injection molded plastic at half the cost of carbon fiber and UV protection hi quality Iso blend resin

I just did the math on my venture so far :

18 parts sold
$ 3325 gross
- $450 shipping
=2875
- $810 materials
=2065 net
-960 in mold and failed part materials in attempt to get flawless carbon look
(not counting miscelaneos sandpaper, polish etc gas to drive and get materials purchase of compressor and vacuum pump)
=1105 profit
AT LEAST 200 hours meticulous craft labor ( very VERY conservative estimate)
= $5.52 an hour -
