French XTZ 660 Marathon For Sale - in France
French XTZ 660 Marathon For Sale - Not mine
Not sure if this is the correct part of the forum to post this, but on the website; leboncoin.fr there is a french XTZ 660 Tenere Marathon for sale. I believe this is the version that was made for the public in '94. One of sixty bikes manufactured by Yamaha France/Sonauto (wich is the team that built the legendary Tenere rally bikes during the first 15 years or so). Wether it is original, with Ohlins shocks etc., I do not know. But in any case the aluminium tanks with 37 liters are there. And needless to say - on sale in France. Here's the link; http://www.leboncoin.fr/motos/383375727.htm?ca=12_s Cheers, Laffi

Over the years, the name Ténéré has been associated with robustness and resistance to face any type of challenge. This adventurous vocation is in the DNA of this family since its inception in the early '80s and has evolved constantly at this time. In years 80 and 90, the model has become a benchmark in off-road segment. Yamaha XT 660Z Ténéré is one of the best selling models in Europe and Brazil shares the lead segment trail with his sister XT 660R, both equipped as the same engine of a cylinder, the first national model with electronic injection system fuel.
![]() Since late last year the three models in the family - XT 1200Z Super Ténéré, XTZ 250 Ténéré XT 660Z Ténéré and - all are available in Brazil and in blue color and with the same aesthetic standard of the artwork. So,someone give me the lowdown on the Tenere. I am close to buying a Transalp, but the Tenere is a definite alternative. I primarily want a road bike for back road rambling, some mountain road touring/camping,some two up of same, with some fairly agressive twisty action .Not afraid to leave the pavement, but not crossing the Sahara or leaving the ground,to be sure. Will they run loaded/two up at 70-80 or is that asking too much. Most big trailies handle quite nicely and I love to wear out the side of my tires. Am I looking at the wrong bike?? Are there commmon issues to look for(TRANSALP is output shafts and CDI's,apparently)What is considered high mileage? Low miles can be just as scary as high, but everything has a practical limit..so....thanks for any reply and all are appreciated. Some great looking bikes in this thread....I am in France ,BTW,so it is European models I am considering....

Hello all,
I'm in need of a fuel tank, seat and side panels for a 34L-model Tenere. Any help is appreciated. Dewey
