Extra Stop Light
I am looking to add an extra LED based stop light. Basically when I brake I want this flashing light to turn on.
THE LED group has its own driver circuitry. All it needs is 12VDC to turn on. I want to synchronise this with the brake light. What I want to add is similar to below, http://www.valens.com.cn/product_inf...ssId=41&pri=17 I have dissasembled the rear end of the bike today. There were 2 very thin wires going to the original brake light (which is LED based). I am not sure if I can connect a paralel lamp to this thin wires. I would appreciate any advise on how to add extra brake lights. Regards |

I have looked at the web site
http://www.hyperlites.com/modbo.html I was not able to see any instructions about fitting the kit? I would appreciate if an inmate can post some details about how to fit the kit. Or direct me to a related link. Regards |

I wanted to pull the trigger this week on the touratech fog lights... But just in time they came up with some new "led lights"... If anyone has some comment on them, I'm all ears!
http://www.kohl.de/webshop/product_i...ucts_id=255029 Something like that but it is for the F800GS (the link on the website isn't working)

I plan on running the added LED stop lights with the existing tail light. I will try to put a fuse on the line just in case. Regards |

if you draw too much extra current with your lights, the CAN-Bus may shut down the brake-light circuit leaving you with no brake lights at all ... CAN-Bus systems do not have regular "fuses" - instead the computer just turns off the circuit if it detects an over-current condition. The Hyperlight system gets around the extra current draw problem by just using the brake light circuit as the "trigger" to engage the Hyperlights, while using a separate power tap to actually draw the power to make the lights work ... either a fuse block or "stealing" from the alarm/tire pressure circuit. "Proceed with caution"

It is difficult to get these lights in the EU. Which one are better adapted, spot or flood?

I've never held one of the D2's but have some duallys on my f8gs. The duallys are big and heavy, the D2's might be massive. Check out shipping weight of 14.2 lbs

http://burak.smugmug.com/Motorcycles...7671&k=Ls5q4Sn ![]() A relay will be used to trigger the led driver. LED driver will be connected to the battery. I need to check if I have the correct colors of wires for the existing stop lights though. From the hyper lite manual it appears that brownwire and gray with black wire should be tapped into. Looks good to me!
According the the schematic I have the brown wire is chassis ground, so if there is a convenient location you could just bolt to the frame and avoid having to use that posi-tap. |
