While y'all are bs'n, chew on this awhile. Bike running very good just a little rich. Remove 62/162 and install 60/160. Spits, sputters, farts, stumbles and then dies. Starts right back up and repeats itself. Be advised EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING that touches fuel in any manner is BEYOND CLEAN and most is new. Why O Why??? Thanks.

where was it rich?

idle? WOT? or mid range?

you tune each circuit seperatly

pilot jet controls start and idle

Main jet controls WOT.

the needle controls the transition and basically the midrange fuel delivery.

Id go back your original main jet ( if it was pulling good in the upper throttle area)

and just go down one on the pilot, or perhaps shim the needle slightly, to pull some fuel out of the mix above idle and below WOT

keep in mind, to have a good "hit" you pretty much will end up a bit rich on a 4 stroke, especially if you do not have a pumper type carb.

one thing you might think abt is getting some kind of insurance on it if you want to ride the dirt roads...even tho they are dirt, they are still county roads and the county sheriff patrols them..and if you happen to have an "accident" on a bike that is not street legal, they gonna hit you hard..at least with some kind of insurance, you can ease that pain just a tad.

Out my way (Madison Co), lottsa dirt roads out this way and I can ride pretty much on dirt and stay off pavement and get someplace..out where you are, off 340, some of those developements are empty of houses and connect via dirt roads..(at least they were a couple of years ago and I don't recall ever seeing any construction goin on there..but I could be wrong)..and these dirt roads would be a good place to get in some saddle time..if I wasnt confined to the house right now, I'b be glad to show ya around, either here in Madison Co or up there where you are..but being under house arrest and my PO is a real bitch, so I will just hafta serve my time and not whine abt it, but one of these days soon, I will be free agn!

yeah I know, I never should have beaten that guy to death..but he asked for it and I am innocent!

Not worried about beaten its that other stuff ya did that scares most of us.

I dont post much but lurk daily.

I have an 09 KLR bought it new in 10 and have about 13k on it. I ride about 70-80% dirt roads. My .02 on tires: Ran stock tires 2 rear to 1 front. Tried Shinko E700s.Good traction (way better than stock) but the rear wore out at 1800 miles. Put a Shinko 244 on the rear and still have the 700 on the front and wearing well. Have about 3800 on the 244. Good traction in dirt, again way better than stock and some better on dry pavement but it is loud.

Just picked up this little beauty of a KDX two smoker from a buddy in Florida. Pretty much everything is new/rebuilt/replaced. Plan is to get it tagged, but for now it's offroad only. I'm taking it up to Mill Creek OHV area Wednesday for a break-in ride. Anyone who has some time off and wants to get dirty/muddy/wet Wednesday is welcome to join in.

It is a good system and it almost always works. Everyone, even Doc has made mistakes using it.

You have to use it, screw it up and figure out how to fix it.

Once you do, you and everyone involved will understand it.
