ADVR R80G/S registry.... who's got one? - Page 46

Just got this yesterday in NYC. I believe I'm the fourth owner. It's an 84 with 82000 miles on it. It apparently has had a conversion to an R100 engine. It was listed as an R80 though. I can confirm that it is 1000cc off of the cylinders but am having trouble finding any other engine ID. Hopefully I can get the details so a rebuild is hassle free.

Awesome bike! Corbin is about to be ditched for a stock seat, however. VIN #2933

LouisPoland....nice job. Can you tell us what some of those parts are? The hand protectors? Which seat is that and where you got it? Did you paint your rims or are they powder coat? What are the front forks off? I like it!

Checking in a year or so after I bought the bike. PGH winter is on us as of today (snow!) and it's time for a bit of rebuild work and some rewiring. (Is it just me, or should the headlight NOT turn off when I turn on the heated grips?).

last four on the VIN is 2243, it's an '81 R80 G/S and the VIN Decoder says it's a US model. I bought it from a friend in California who had to switch to sidecars, he put a lot of work into making it good for long rides in the mountains and such. I think I've got all the paperwork from the original purchase but basements keep making thing disappear.
