Too scuffed for the office. Doesn't matter what boots I wear, they get too scuffed after a year of everyday wear.
I'm not worried about replacing them, just hate throwing them out and now have too large of a collection to keep

I don't know if this matters and I don't know what you do.
But I've had good luck getting my boots resoled and my shoe guy (Who does the warranty and repair work for Alpinestars)
Redyes my boots for nothing, but yes he charges about $35 for a stitchdown resole.

The boots look good enough for another 6-8 months depending on use. I've never resoled a pair of Docs however
Since normally the leather is so cheap that it's not worth it.

I would suggest looking at spending a little more money and buying a better pair of boots, you will find that the leather doesn't get as scuffed up as quick and they will be worth resoling.

Thanks. Guess I'm a creature of habit. I've worn Docs almost exclusively since the mid-80's and never really looked at anything else for everyday wear.

At my condo in Concord there is always someone scavenging the dumpsters at the complex. When I have clothing in good condition I fold them and place them on top the recycle bin. By Sat. morning they will be gone.

I bought my Combat Touring Boots in 1998. I am finally about to get them resoled for the first time. And I'm quite happy that RiderWearhouse sells the actual original soles as replacements, so I can get them redone back to OEM-specs ;).

I have worn them to work before. They are scuffed up, but since they're just basic black leather, I'm pretty sure a little black shoe polish and a small amount of elbow grease (and new soles) will have them looking like brand new again shortly.

Oh, and actually, I crashed in them once and scuffed up the buckle on one side. But, RiderWearhouse also sells replacement buckles and straps, so I'll be putting those on at the same time as the new soles. So, I think they really will look like brand new.

Gotta love the internet, ask how to get rid of old boots and get 15 guys telling you that you buy the wrong stuff, and what to buy.

If there is any life left in them, I try to give my old boots away to beginning riders who are assembling gear but are low on funds.
