I have no real desire to ride deep sand, but I'm up for some more of what's up Rt 14. If you guys are interested in hitting that area again this weekend, I'd love to. My wife is out of town and I can ride anytime after 11 on Saturday or Sunday. I have to re-iterate that I'm a noob to the dirt and that my bike has neither a skidplate nor knobbies.

Let me know when you guys want to do some sand practice on the big bikes. I love the sand and have had a little experience with it...pics on laptop that just went back to the company for a new one...here are some tips to think & do if you are on it...
1) Relax your arms & let the sand take you.
2) Tire pressure at 20 lbs max
3) Look a head & Pic your line in advance
4) Stand on the pegs, steer with feet, throttle & weight...

The rest you will start to learn, but get the feet on the pegs as soon as you hit the gas so you but can go over the back wheel.

I would love to take my big GS out on some sand soon so let me know!!!

All very good advice. I would run my tires much lower than 20lbs. Best advice I can give is rip it. The faster you go, the easier it is to control the bike. The idea sounds scary at first. Sometimes doing 25-30 can seem sketchy and hard to convince yourself to speed up, but trust me....I learned the hard way (ask Daaang)!

Anyone want to ride Sunday? Only DAAANG and Jon know me on here, but I'd like to get the cobwebs off the GS and meet some of the local inmates. Been out of town a LOT lately.

I had them mount and balance a tire for me a couple months back. Other than that I don't have any dealings with 'em.
