Off-Topic -> When in the shipyard many moons ago, with the crew living on a berthing barge, an inexperienced cook was charged with lighting the charcoal grills for a steak supper. He couldn't find the lighter fluid so used diesel fuel instead. That didn't turn out well.

By the way, I WILL have a good KTM 690 RR for sale very soon. Needs no work. This is the one that won Stage 5 of the 2009 Dakar, but with a new big-bore 701cc motor and full service. Legit CA title and license plate.

fun fun

No, it's bike #88 from this year - caught fire a couple of days after rest day... Patsy brought the remains back with the others...

The bike was brought in on a temporary import, so you have to bring it out again (otherwise there are huge import fees to pay, presumably*), and it still had a chassis number... well, somewhere...

Jx

*based on it's value at import (you have to declare it), rather than it's value now... which is pretty much zero of course...

What's the story? I'm guessing that a week ago this bike was in a lot better shape.

Brent luckily only lost his dirt girlfriends in a house fire .. this 660, that a few of us had our eye on and a 950 he raced in the North Nevada Rally... Such a sad sight Brent..
