Fz1 totaled or fixable

If it were me, I KNOW what I'd do - I'd buy the bike back, then buy another nice, unscuffed Gen 1 bike with a known second gear problem for cheap, and put the motor with the good second gear in it - then sell parts on EBay or wherever and have a nice holiday with the money left over!

I am definitely buying it back. If I don't keep it my dad wants it. Best bike I have ever owned and no idea what I would replace it with. I have bike add but it's the first bike I have wanted to hold on to.

Hard luggage and racks. I have a givi rack and top box but need the side boxes and mounting stuff. Anyone have any of these items for sale?

The Wolf, like you, I just spent a lot of time looking to replace this bike, however, I love it and could not find something to replace it with so I will fix it and continue riding.

If you haven't already, upgrade your suspension. Doing that makes the bike even better. Even the budget suspension mods make a huge difference. Check the FZ1OA, couple of folks are selling goodies or parting out right now.
