You could be right about the Technosport thing... I just recalled that the Chinese leased Terrano based vehicle from an established European NISSAN team... Dessoude/Technosport = same/same pretty much... the "Great Wall" was not of the Chinese engineers work in any case.


* Regards this... yes I agree, the chinese have proven they can copy anything... Reproducing the material is one thing... duplicating the expertise, management and running of the team is another. The "Mitsubishi" factory efforts (both Dakar and WRC) while very much authorized, funded and overseen by Japan HQ (much of the budget came from the marketing arm and outside sponsors via Japan)... the majority of the expertise, management, design/engineering and team personel/driver roster came out of Europe...

That "Great Wall" can do this soley from a Chinese based operation... I would be VERY surprised... if so it is another five years away at best... not 2014.

Team Info : Robby Gordon will finally start well for the next Dakar will start in Lima, Peru, on 5 January. The American who had been excluded from the 2012 edition for violating the technical regulation, finally decided to reengage on the main event of the rally in the final minute. behind the wheel of his Hummer H3, bringing the number 315, Gordon hopefully come out and play the trouble makers among the favorites as Stéphane Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz and Nasser Al-Atthiyah. His craft, which aroused much controversy as to its compliance for several years, has been controlled, the weekend by two commissioners of the event, within the American workshops, in Charlotte, North Carolina. H3 Gordon has been declared but will undergo a full re-inspection, audits during the traditional Dakar, held from January 2 to 4, in Lima.

I was on the list for the second hummer 2 years ago, . . . probably 10th out of 10 people. Hopefully I'm off the list now. I have more experience in an F5 F5 F5 car these days!
