Man I tried every way in the world to justify that suspension and have it shipped over here but I just couldn't do it. Look sweet. Glad it went to someone that will use it.

On my RC8 I think there is a master key that is orange and this is what's used to "activate" the chips in the keys.

That or your not supposed to let the orange and black keys touch.

Something like that. I just woke up.

Let me dig around outside and see if I have my manual. It should say.

Im all aware of this orange/black system. Immobilizer unit looks like this.

The other day i had a chance to talk with the plastic welder and his all ready when i am. Uhhhhh exciting.

Obviously I want to see you get the full FI system working on your RC8 as that was your goal and I'm sure you'll get it eventually but if you do throw in the towel you know there's a nicely sorted carb option - you just need the 950 harness. That is just a last resort of course. Stay on the imobilizer - you'll get it.

Funny you said it, just thought of it today in a moment. Used some googlefoo and got a measure on how much 72ish cui would need. Ca 211 cfm at 10.000rpm and then i got lost. I think i would need the cfm to measure the size of the carb. The throttle bodies on the RC8 is 52mm. Could i just copy/paste those?

Yeah, that's the beauty of injection. Almost limitless air and infinite mapping... Once you get past that pesky immobilizer!
You'll get it and when you do it will be just silly power.

May be able to fire off an email to KTM Twins or KTM themselves and just ask. Tell them what you are building and just see what they say.

EDIT: someone on another forum had to reset his immobilizer on his RC8 and the process was turning the orange key on and off 5 times. Said it worked for him.

Last suspension got sorted this evening. Sheeees its tall.

Had to sort out the rear. The longer reservoir meant that i needed to lift the subframe.

All the powder coating is good, but makes a tight fit. Rubber mallet and its on.

Yay

Getting close.

At last on its own weight again. Looks so funny with the standard sidestand.

Unholy cow, im fecking stoked. This is a huge step in my world domination plan.

How come you moved the subframe to get the rear in? Mine was a direct remove / replace once the mud guard was removed.
Have you routed the rear exh headers yet? It's a tight fit with the swingarm being angled further down

I think its because the shock has been modified - in addition to the longer travel, the reservoir is longer...

My pyn susp was a remove/replace situation Other than the rear mudguard. Front brake lines needed lengthening and my GPR headers need a small mod but that's it. Oh and my new platform boots

Been thinking about this and think I might have a solution (I hope).

Being that this is an electrical device, there has to be power going to it. So, pull out a multimeter and test all the connections in the plug from the harness side, with the bike ignition on, to find out which ones are "hot". Then go to the immobiliser and test the same connections to see if there is something wrong with the immobiliser itself.

Everything I'm reading is saying that you have to activate the immobiliser and to do that you do the orange key 5 times thing. Beyond that I'm wondering if the immobiliser is simply not working. It should be a plug and play time item.

Think this would work?

I will be trying to see if i can read some power from the wiring connecting the immobiliser. The reset configuration is a little weird. I have done it before and got nothing from it. Though there isnt stated any methods in the manual reagarding resetting.

I wrote to some KTM dealers and an answer showed up today:

Dear Mikael!

Did you put the software on the keys?
You local dealer can do that with the original ktm software tools.

Kind reguards

We will see if this give some feedback.

Well maybe it will be a loud christmas this year. Ive found out that i may need a part(no shit).

All these faults about my immobiliser isnt activated is possibly because of my lack of depth knowledge. I was surfing the ebay for parts and struck upon this:

I looked at the picture and was aware that the part in the top left corner with the grey wiring wasnt in my bag. hmmm
Further investigation would tell me that it was the part nr 14 6111102000 Starter interlock(antenna).
This could my remedy for a real christmas.

Part is ordered and time to wait.

Mikael
