That sucks, but glad you're OK, Bikehigh; there are lessons there for all of us. Bikes can be fixed or replaced, us mushy things are harder to fix. I have a Li'l Thumper you can borrow to keep you out of trouble if you need it, it's feeling unloved at the moment.

Glad you are ok bikehigh. The bike can always be replaced at her insurance company's cost.

WOW!! SCARY!!
Good to see your up & about Charles. That looks too familiar. Was only a little over a year ago I had the same pics
Bikes can be replaced! US.............

Just a little heads up on a few things.
Get all the acesssories you can off your bike, before the Insurance Co. takes it.
Start scrounging up receipts for everything (gear, acess, & ETC)

Try & get a decent price for your bike, gear & access. Get the check, so you can buy another
Then hire a lawyer to take care of your medical, lost wages, & etc.

Also check out Post Concussion Syndrome
Some symptons don't show up for a few weeks.

Good Luck! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

If there's anything we can do? Just shout!

Welp, bikes set up to be stored for winter. First time I have winterized my bikes, in 20 years. Fresh oil, stabil in tanks, bikes cleaned up, and battery tender on( second one coming for SV1K..but that has a gel battery that will start bike after a year of sitting). Wife and baby will be first priority for next few months..at least.

Some idiot lady driver tried to run me over today too !

Looking right at me as I am making a left turn onto a side street (no stop sign) and she wants to make a left onto the street I am on (she does have a stop sign).
Almost met in the middle.

Then she has the nerve to look at me like I did something wrong.
I should have stopped and knocked on her window, that was how close she got to me.

quick stories included!- this morning about 9:00 around the 80-280 split
Had a R-Tard look at me. He made eye contact with me. Then began to slowly move into my lane. there was no place to go in heavy Rt80 traffic. So I screamed and nailed the throttle to get his attention as the horn was not working. Well he swerved he WRX back into his own lane, and gave me the finger.
WTF?
That was only the second time I considered honestly kicking the assholes mirror off his car.

He looked at me. then almost ran me over. What are these assholes thinking?
Or the better question
Why are they NOT thinking?

I have no idea what they are (ARE NOT) thinking.
Like you said, they look right at you and continue on their merry way ! ! ! ! ! !

I know I am in no way invisible with the bright yellow jacket, red motorcycle and super high bright auxiliary lights.

I was trying to think of anything that made sense as to why someone would do that and I can think of nothing.
Unless they think we are a bicycle doing 5 MPH.
Even those you can not stop on a dime.
But even bicycles are supposed to be treated like a car on the road, which I find ridiculous because they
have no features that make them even close to a motorized vehicle (speed, acceleration, lights, horn, etc.)
so I still would have had the right of way.

You just gotta keep looking and expecting the worst most of the time and figure how to get out of any situation. Sheesh !
