If you've got a 20mm spacer, that goes in the left hand frame pocket. You'll notice in the first pics that it brings the bars quite a bit out from the frame.

Quote:
2 x 12mm = 24 to barely get flush on all frame pockets..the 20mm would be too short

Sorry, it certainly seems strange. 1 x 20mm and 3 x 12mm were all that came with my fitting kit. As you can see, the 20mm one comes out a fair bit on the left side.
Seems the frame pockets on yours are a bit deeper for some reason. |

Spacers are 20mm on the left and the others are all 12mm.

right i have 3 - 12mm.. and 1 - 20 mm.. but if u look at my pictures.. all of the frame cups that u put the bushings into.. require at least 2 of the 12mm bushings for it to be close to flush. for a total of 24mm
on urs.. that 20mm sticks out.. on mine it would be 4mm below the cup outside edge.. all the other pockets using only 1 12mm.. the bushing would be 12+mm from the edge of the frame cup have email to place i bought and hepco germany themselves.. waiting to here from them.. basically i need a 2nd set of bushings

Recently had the same issue as you but on a gs. I bought a set used and missing some spacers. As long as you know the length of the spacers you need, go down and buy a bunch of washers to fill the void. I bought stainless so the wouldn't rust. Worked for me.

yep they were a little pricey but it works. I also had to chop off the mounts on the tank bars and weld on new mounts to fit. Repainted with stove paint and they look brand new.

hate to complicate it further, but...
Will this bike be doing much off road work, corrugated dirt or carry big loads?
If so, you might want to think about fitting frame reinforcement plates. TT sell them. Mine is built to Aussie spec, so came with them. They will affect the way you mount the crash bars. http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/2...R1100GS-Yellow
