Fork Maintainence, complete or routine?

I still say change the fluid every 6 to 12 monthes, and rebuild every other year. If it's just sitting, very low mileage I'd go longer, if it's ridden hard and/or lot's of miles, I'd rebuild annually. There now, it's all clear as muddy fork oil, isn't it?

If your riding the ADV as hard as you should have been riding that 400 SX, your more of a man then me!

because oil is constantly forced around in forks it's gonna be nasty even in 6mo.

Hi guys me again...

still doing some works on my bike. After the changing of oil and rebound needle, I wanted to put again the factory setting on the fork. I realized that I can turn endlessly the plastic knob n the to of the fork.... I suppose it has something to do with the rebound needle... Somebody can help me? I hope I don't need to dismount everythign again...

Another trick that's been used for years is to get the long feeler guages, .002" works well and cut them to sit between the bushing and the outer fork leg. Thighens the bushing freeplay right up

I'm guessing you reassembled the rebound needle or adjuster incorrectly if the knob keeps turning... damn sorry to say. As my guide says (your first link above) the adjuster rod needs to be properly seated in the rebound assembly, so maybe you can get away with just opening the tops and try to seat the rod properly.

And did you search the Husaberg forum? Aussie Steve how'bout a direct link to the thread you were thinking of... I looked quickly and didn't find assembly advice for this component. But I did find this:

no I didn't checked the Husaberg one...

But yesterday I finally found to time and the ...courage to dismount again and reopen my fork, and I found out what was the problem.

The adjustment screw didn't turn anymore.. the little plastic screw was not moving at all. I dismounted it and set it correctly and now it's working!!!

Factory Connection says that is not for the forks, and they don't make one for the forks... too bad.
