I installed one, tested it for about 10 miles, took it off and sold it.
It is a HUGE tire for the 630. I could not get rid of the headshake over 65. I don't know if that was attributable to the tire or not.
It weighs about 5lbs more than the T63 I always run. And that's all unsprung weight.

For a knobby I think the Kenda Trackmaster is worth a try. Or just stick with 606 or MT21.

Yes the PU kit was already installed when i've got the bike.
I was impressed over how smooth the engine was compared to the ktm 690 i had before (it was very difficult to keep the engine run in smal trails with roots & rocks with the 690)

Also think that my 630 runs better now after 5000km than it did when it was new.
I realy dont' need more power, but a little more is always welcome

You cant' get the Dunlop 606 here in Sweden, nobody sells it here but the Mt21 is popular here....i like it offroad &
on dry pavement but is to slippery on wet pavment i think.
The Pirelli Rally 140 is to big i think but there is a 120/100 version to....think i gonna try that tyre.
The Rally front is my favorit.

Found the TE630 can be just as fun on the pavement.. this set up even had me ripping down a graded drit road at 55 mph no problem.. also at 80 mph on the freeway was much more secure. Only problem is the kickstand length.

So I assume you mean the kickstand is too long with the 17 inch wheels? I assume that's what they are, although they look a little bigger than that to me for some reason...

Correct, stand length is slightly long and the wheels are the standard Husky 17" supermoto wheel dimensions that come from the factory on the SM630, only the ones pictured are from Warp 9 .

edit.. forgot that you will need to attach a speedometer magnet to the new rotor and most likely re-program the speedometer for a 17 wheel.

Having never ridden a motard but have always been curious...how does the handling compare to the dirt setup?

The bike should'a come with black rims in the first place.

If I had to sell one of my bikes it would probably be the Tiger, then get these wheels for the Husky. It's just more versatile. Great looking setup there. Hope it rides as good as it looks.

BTW Jtemple, motard wheels will make a bike rail the corners on the street. It transforms them into a street carving machine. To complete the package you lower and firm up the suspension so it doesn't wallow in corners or braking. But then you don't have a dirtbike anymore.

The 630 has so much engine braking you can probably get by with the single disc if you just keep that fact in mind when you start carving.

What is the correct size rear sprocket to use if switching to 17" rims if I want to keep the same gear ratio on my TE? Was going to buy a second bike, but that pic of the Warp 9 setup is just soooo good looking I may go that route.

The SM630 runs a 38 th rear sprocket however the internal gear box ratios of the SM630 for 5th and 6th are lower than the TE630.

I ran the stock TE630 42 rear sprocket on the 17" wheels and the bike felt geared similar to girlfriends SM630 in 6th gear which was 5000 rpm at 70 mph.

I plan on eventually running a 40 th on my 17" wheels so that I can swap back to dirt set up without any chain length issues.

I was extremely surprised and impressed by the look of my TE after installing the black 17" supermoto wheels and that even takes into consideration that I have a white SM630 in the garage. My girlfriend and a few friends that own TE630s also conveyed the same opinions. It really does change the image of the TE. The photos I posted were not the best since they came from my camera phone but I should have some better ones later.

Warp 9 / Motostrano does have the black rims with black hubs and black rear sprocket which I think I'd prefer but I purchased this set up slightly used off ebay.

What also surprised me is with a limited graded hard pack dirt road run.. how well the distanzias worked even at higher speeds and under hard braking and fast accleration.. After winter I'll have a better review of the 17" Distanzia set up for packed dirt/graded road use.

Hi all, just did an oil change, filter and screen clean. My manual does not give intervals, just says service at 1,000ks, 5,000ks, 10,000ks etc. Questions - do You do the screen behind the clutch cover every 5,000ks, sooner than that or do You skip it for longer? What oil do You use and how much $ and where are You getting oil filters??. thanks in advance Beetle.

If you look at the OIC again you'll see it says 1K or 600 miles on the first change. I did mine at 250 miles. Then it shows replace oil and filter at 5K km, or 3000 mile intervals. I do mine at about 2000 with Amsoil synthetic after it had about 12-1400 miles on it. Filter from the dealer, or you can get a Hiflo, but get the right one, we've covered that in depth on cafehusky.com. They run about $5.
If you need a shop manual let us know, they are free for download...30mb PDF.
Amsoil at dealer cost if you want it. Other oils are fine as well, I just prefer the full syn they have, good price too.

12,000 miles on mine. I have checked the screen under the clutch cover several times and have never seen even a hint of debris in there.

That said, once you have the oil drained, pulling that cover is a piece of cake. The gasket is reusable. Wouldn't hurt to check it every now & again.

On my 03 TE610E (same basic bottom end) the screen under the clutch cover was perfectly clean after 14k. I clean the left one under the shifter ever oil change of course.
