I like blade stuff as well.....really leaning to the huey...yea I know...but it does look pretty good right out of the box, and at this stage that is what I want.

This. Horizon just dropped the price on the mCX to $79.99 at their online store and I have a promo code that will drop another $10 off if you're interested. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years and it's collided with everything in the house by now; the only parts I've replaced is one set each upper and lower blades, one canopy, and one rotor hub and inner driveshaft. All my nieces and nephews have had a turn crashing it too...

Quadcopter light show
I used to program intelligent lights for concerts so this hits several hot buttons for me. I'm just in awe about the amount of programming this would have taken to coordinate 2 dissimilar systems this well. Thread of awesome? Maybe only for me, but still damn cool.

A nice morning to do a little flying, at least until my toes got too cold!

Yes, exactly. The wing has strip ailerons that are only about an inch wide, and they just weren't effective enough. I added those as an easy bolt-on way to get a little more roll authority without alot of work. At first, I put them below the wing, sticking down from the ailerons. Then I realized that if I made a crappy landing and touched one on the ground it would probably rip things up pretty good. So, I moved them to the top. Interestingly, they seem to work better up there! One of these days I'll probably go ahead and remove the ailerons and replace them with bigger ones, plus add another servo and make them work as flaps (flaperons). For now, they do what I wanted.

What camera did you use...I like it as there is not a huge amount of wind noise....did you process the video and cut down on the noise?

And no, didn't do a thing to it. That video is exactly what came out of the camera.
