Good point...

That is amazing, isn't it? ![]() I particularly love it when some of both the "Austrian Goose Steppers" and "Munich Luftwaffe Pilots" start with the "But the best adventure beast for off-road riding is...", and they name one of the Teutonic brands, and start caterwauling about the Super Tenere's weight... All while they continue to forget that the S-10's best virtue is that it always brings you *HOME* without any bizarre trail repairs, calls to "Roadside Assistance", or frantic midnight phone calls trying to find a dealer or parts. I love a bike that I can trust to get me there *AND* back, and hate ones I can never be sure of or really trust deep down. I'll take a pound or two more weight for just the piece of mind... I don't care how light the bike is, or how much better it supposedly handles off-road, if it's broke down it's a big paperweight that ain't handling nothing for the moment! ![]() And why does their kind of misery have to be soooooooooooooo friggin' "EXPENSIVE*??? ![]() Dallara ~

Better Blue than Orange or Final Drive Fluid...
Hey, folks can say I drink the Yamaha "Big Blue" Kool-Aid... ![]() Won't bother me a bit. Works for me. I've owned a couple of Beemers, and I was a KTM dealer... Wonderful pieces to sit and talk about, but not always the choice to get ya' there *AND* back - at least not for me! ![]() Give me the "Big Blue" Yamaha every time! Dallara ~

No doubt about it, the thing appears to be bullet proof.

Ok, this is another quarter mile up the road:
![]() Took the first picture after stopping to walk the rut to make sure it was somewhat firm. Took this second picture because I came across this: ![]() The sign doesn't look to be official, and the road goes through on my gps, but I was alone, 3 miles from pavement, on a 600 pound bike on a muddy road. I wasn't going to press my luck with the shot up road sign and half a dozen no trespassing signs. |

Did you jump ship all together or do you still have your Tenere?

Nah... No way...
Quote:
Nope... I ain't buying it. Does *look* like a new sled, but the Pluric I know would only get the very latest and greatest from any manufacturer, and that's not Big Orange's most up-to-date parts-dropper... ![]() And here it is December and not even April yet! ![]() But just in case it is true, how come you don't have the most important KTM farkle? ![]() It's the screen set-up that bolts underneath a KTM to catch the parts that shake loose, fall off, etc., and the one pictured even has the trick oil separator... Does cut down on ground clearance, though. After that it's a mailbox like The Westmeister... Dallara ~
