I spoke with a dealer in Shawnee Mission KS today and he said the bike would not be imported to the US until 2014......true?? anyone know for sure

My local dealer told me the same thing- No new bike till 2014.

Just did an oil change on my friend's RC8. It was so easy

. It can take only 20min.

Two bolts that have screens attached to them plus the filter. That's it. No magnets on the bolts.

The new adventure uses the same engine as RC8 right?

Hasn't it always been the case that the US gets the model euro regions had a year earlier? Makes sense it won't be any different this time. KTM is a reasonably small manufacturer, odds are they just can't cope with a worldwide launch.

Here in Canada I think it has more to do with the left-over inventory of 990s sitting in showrooms...

This might mean the 2014 Model Year, possibly released in mid to late 2013 as is so often the case with vehicles.

I wonder if they're talking about the '14 model year, which could still come much earlier as they historically have with KTM. My two dealers are both still expecting the R in the late spring. At least they were when I called them two weeks ago.

Also could be they're waiting on the receipt of EPA Certificate of Conformity. Can take awhile. Norton's been waiting almost 2 years to get one for the new 961
