990 rear tires?
looking for a good rear for my 990 thinking about the TKC 80 but want to know what else is out there. also is 150/70B18 TL the right size TKC80 for a 990 rear? look for a good off road tire.

+2 for the 908, but ya gotta have deep pockets for them now. The Mefo is good as is the stock Scorp. IMHO. I just ordered a new Tractionator! We will see how this does, at least it is affordable. The TKC is also good, I like it best at about 3/4 gone!
Yes the 150 is the right size for an Adv. with a 4" hoop. Hope this helps. Take care, Eric.

i was pleasantly surprised at the longevity i got out of my metzeler karoo 2's. close to 4,000 miles, and while they're not as capable offroad as the 908's, i bought both front and rear tires for less than a rear 908. (less than 300.) they seem to wear a little better on pavement and not be as twitchy on it, also. i guess it really depends on what kind of terrain you're going to be using your bike on. good luck.

Just got em...
Motoz from Austrailia. Like a TKC on steroids. Stiff sidewalls and super puncture resistant so you can run low psi. I run around 8psi in the woods and hook up like a big tittied chick at a frat party.
I don't have any connection w the company, just like good tires on the beast. |

Heidenau K60 Scout is a fantastic all around tire.

Try the Mitas E10 instead of the TKC, its way better.
If you want something more agressive try the Mitas E09 or Golden Tyre GT200. All are available in 150/70/18.

I like the Heidenau K60. I've got 7000 miles on them now, and will probably get 8-9. I've used them 2 up in Colorado mud and Moab sand and also on a solo road trip. A good all around tire.

The odometer says 4000miles but the rear tire spun 10000miles worth.
