thanks mike some useful footage and info in the r/r,how did you find it on the 800?will get in touch a bit closer to kick off if thats ok,was it sand or corrugations that where the biggest hurdle on the hell highway, have you fuel consumtion figures for the 800 vs drz?did you have enough water?looks like ahab the camel herder was there with ya,plenty of camels(any dramas)other than getting around them

Only as far as Neales Junction, a really enjoyable ride, a few of us are going to do it this coming June, welcome to join us, heading East though. Neils RR - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...5#post18436295
Mike (Old Betsy) and John (J_B) would be the best source for information, it sounds like from Mikes RR that there is more sandier sections on the Cooper Pedy end of the track.

Illkurka to Cooper Pedy is 770km is the longest section, a couple of us can carry fuel for another 300km, so we can help out with fuel if needed.

If an F800 can do it, yours should. I'm thinking of hunting down a 640 ADV tank or a few bladders for the KTM.
A 44 gallon drum of fuel would be perfect at VH Corner. How hard would it be for you to organise?
