Compared to other rally raids:

Tuareg, $2000, 7 days = $285/day
Sertoes, $3200, 10 days = $320/day
Mex 1000, $1800, 4 days = $450/day
Aussie Safari, $4200, 7 days = $600/day

And of course...

Dakar, $19000, 14 days = $1350/day

But when you consider shipping expenses, the Mex 1K is much cheaper overall for North American competitors.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's outrageous, just that it's harder when your from this half of the country.....I'm going to find a way to make it happen even if I have to tie my shirt in a knot at a truck stop and........well you get the idea.

Better start watching training videos. This clip will show you how to get a big rig to get all of those east coast boys down to Mexicali!!

Sag wagon?

I was wondering how you guys that are planning on soloing the M1K for 4 days without chasers deal with hauling along things like a change of clothes, spare parts etc?
Maybe in the Suby wagon?

Scotty called me this AM and gave me a heads up about this article.
Gives some hints to the rule changes to the bikes.
