All in all, I think everyone had a good time riding, hiking, and telling lies around the fire.
Mark and Scott were troopers on the plateau, TJ was a great tour guide as he clearly rides the area regularly. he took us up to this awesome viewpoint

where we all took pictures

I have to appollogize to S-Mark for hauling him down that single track. (guess i should of waited for PP) but hope to see the self rescue video some day.
I cant thank Ken and Karen enough

for providing such a feast! they are generous as well as genuine!
And talk about small world stories; turns out TJ was the first responder who took charge of the scene last year when my wife went head on with another out on the trails

I know, its a little of topic. Thanks for being there TJ, Its nice to roll with someone you can trust in a crises to make the right decisions.
And it turns out this guy

has been working with my Brother-in-law for years
looking forward to doing it again soon!
PS, Don't forget our upcoming OBDR trip

Holy moly, that little bit of snow that fell turned that nice dirt road into GLUE with 15 minutes
By the time PigPen & I figured it out....it was too late:

Thicker than snot. Stickier than well....just about anything
This pic^^ was at top of the road, on the way back down it just got worse and worse.

We had to stop 4 times to dig the mud out of our swingarms just enough to move another 1/4 mile,
and then find another stick and dig it out again.

Passerby shot of Chimney Rock:

Apple Jam and MaxAcceleration's home by the river:
(max chickened out at the first sight of rising water)

Thanks for coming, all !!
GREAT first camping trip of the year !!!!!!

Dogs

I bout fell out of my chair when that dog answered your howl.

Glad you made it back safe Jeff. I have your fender if you need the evidence for a hall of shame. I like the look of those high fenders on KTM Adventures anyways.

Are we doing this again in 2013?

Sorry the quality is so crappy, I had to use some gumfy conversion program to cut/paste this together. Should be good for a laugh though.

I'm game, and looking forward to it! Okay maybe not the part where you pinned yourself under the bike - but the rest of it was a blast! Couldn't think of a better camping spot either!

Yeah, sounds like fun. This time more riding less cooking.... Well, maybe some cooking Either end of the campground is fine. I think where we were this year was more windy than the North end.

Glad to hear you'll be back! Are you bringing Tascha?
The north end is limited in size, especially for cars/trucks/mhomes
It was the perfect size for our two pickup & 5 tent weekend,
and I think it is more protected from the wind.
I walked over there last year one morning while some-a-yous was still snoring,
and it seemed calmer,.....but I think we woulda outsized it last year.
Same place as last year sounds perfect to me
