Bultaco Matador!

Had one of those too. Rode a couple of eastern enduros on mine. Not very fast but good mountian goat and supposedly good suspension compared to the DT1 Yammie which a lot of guys were switching to. The enclosed chain was a pain.

Old bikes may have been junk in comparison to a current bike, but who knew the difference? Thanks for sharing the cool pix

I picked up the first XL 600R from my local dealer back in 1983. Such a step forward from the 1981 Yamaha XT 500G it replaced. When this bike came out I thought the "enduro" market segment might actually get some new MX technology injected into new enduro/dual sport bikes...no such luck. Other than a rear disc brake my 2004 DR 650 has no new technology from what you see here. The XL was at least a hemi with dual/two stage carbs.

My old MR250 Elsinore. Had 3 at one time, one of the others is in the background. Sadly, it's in about a thousand pieces now. Been trying to find time to rebuild the motor and set it up to race XC with AHRMA. Keeps getting pushed off the top of the list. I'm thinking this winter is it's winter to get rebuilt though.

And my first moto ride with Dad...wish he still had that bike.

I beg to differ. I have never owned anything newer than a 1985 RM250. I love old bikes, and I love everything about them!
They are more simple, easier to fix, and much better looking IMHO.
I am 20 years old, and I get old Harley riders, people on BMW's w/sidecars, sport bikes, and every other kind of motorcycle rider admiring and asking about my 74' MT125! It seems to bring back memories of the old riding days for old folk, and new generation riders seem to appreciate the versatility and simplicity and rarity of it!
I don't think I ever want to let the machine go, and i hope to teach my future children to ride on this piece of Honda history.
I regret selling my 1972 Honda XL250 all of the time...

It's on the boarder line. But it's still over 20 so we'll let it slide

I got up Saturday to go look again. The salesman came over, and told me that he'd seen me in before. I said something like "I came in to look at that '86 you had, but it's gone. I don't know about the white ones". He told me that they had just finished putting together another '86. We went out back and they were just washing it off. I got on it, started it and listened to it idle for a little bit, them I bought it.
I like that could do with one now

Any details on the build of the one? Something about this kind of rig
fascinates me.
