Thomaston Dam temporarily closed:

As of June 10, the trail area will be closed until further notice due to unsafe conditions and flooding caused by recent severe weather.

phone # led to VM with essentially the same info. - I'll keep my eyes on it...

Yes, reportedly (no point in me going there, I have more & better riding closer to home).

I went there last Sunday with a friend. We rode up from southington. It was my first time there and was not sure where to go in there. If anyone knows the trails and wants to ride up together next time let me know. Also, if you have any other spots around central CT let me know. We have a few places to go, all illegal of course.

Thomaston? Not much to it. Up the left side which is rockier, down the right side which is sandier (cinder road up the middle for squids). Little track area down low by the dam. Whole area is hemmed in between the highway and the river, really not much in there but with so little legal riding in CT what the heck.

MA is getting less and less too, a few years back we lost Savoy in its entirety, and now in other areas trails are being closed piecemeal.

Nepaug

Went to nepaug for the first time today, pretty cool place. The legal dirt roads are fun and there are lots of side trails of questionable legality. Heres some pics.

^We were fixing Jays front caliper, one of the bolts came loose. Fortunately we were able to scavenge one of the triple clamp bolts that fit perfect.

Awesome day riding, the new trackmaster 2s worked great. Anybody else ride here?

I live about 5 minutes away. Only the main roads are actually legal. But as you said there are a bunch of side trails, that are heavily used.

Thinking of riding in the rain tomorrow. Maybe back at Nepaug. Anybody interested in a soggy dirt road ride?

Just saw this. I was looking for an excuse to not go into work today.
