But this reminds me of something (that I made)...I can't remember which thread it was but I recently saw where someone had asked how to mount the top case. For anyone interested, here is my cheap, simple, and effective solution. Plus, no mods to the bike. I just used a scrap piece of metal.
that's my $.02
...maybe someone else has already done that and you all already know.
Here's my solution to the same issue: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...1#post19646281

I like your design. I keep putting it off, but I'm planning to put some sort of pin or bolt from the inside into my slide to secure the box.

I wasn't aware of that thread. Thanks for helping me find a way to waste several hours.

Good work. I like it.

I cleared a nice big area in the garage last night for my bike and lift. Almost time to start the winter upgrades...

Bless you sir.

Mine not sporting any sewer pipe, but I do indeed like the agricultural tool tubes for storage.

I suppose that will work if you can't find a sewer pipe.

the mounting tabs would be handy in a lot of situations

If coolant stops flowing for some reason (water pump failure, contaminants, etc.) your top end could be 250 degrees F and your coolant wouldn't necessarily show it. On a side note, you can also tap into the stock tach wires so you don't have to use the supplied TT tach wires.

Is that where it is on the '08s? I was under the impression that the temp sensor was in the radiator, but I might be missing something.

Can't go out and look, bike is at work right now (take home truck when I'm on-call)

I tried to make the inside smoother.

I used Tee nuts inside my side cases and in the top box. In the side cases I use a pin spanner to turn the stainless Tee nuts themselves on stainless carriage bolts (with stainless fender washers and black RTV). In the top case the tee nuts are sealed into the interior paint and I use allen bolts going up from the bottom.

Pic of a side case here. (The top box is far simpler inside.)

I just wanted to mention an alternative.
Looks strong.

Specify, precise...

That?

Geographical location (Lat+Long).

Town Highway name.
State, etc.

Or...the cases are mounted 13" back from the leading edge of....

Just being a jerk, but not maliciously. If that's possible.

Hey amigo that is a cool pic (all of them)!! is that an aftermarket oil filter?? or is GEN 2 come with a different set up for the oil filter? I am asking because it looks (to me) like it is out of place to I was thinking after market filter.

I am just south of you in Ensenada and you are welcome to come and play!
