Ok, here is your marion co tag. Y'a gonna have to do a little gravel fireroadin to git it. road is in great shape, I wouldn't have no trouble gettin to on my harley classic. It is at the junction of the appalachan trail, and otter creek rd. This junction is located 1.4 miles south of the wesser bald mt. fire tower which is also located on the appalachan trail. It is the highest firetower in the smokey mountians at over 5700 feet. The tag is at a little over 5300 ft. It is a fantastic ride in to the tag location. It can also be accessed off tellico gap rd. The green/ white sign in the photo is the appalachen trail marker sign.

Great tag placement Augie. Wish I could have met up with you Saturday. I was thinking of grabbing it today and moving it to Madison Co but sitting here with a hot cup of coffee and watching the rain pour down has me rethinking my plan. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday.

Whoever grabs Macon Co will have an easy run over to Madison Co but then it's a long Easterly haul to Martin Co, Then back to the West for a while with McDowell, Mecklenberg and Mitchell. Then an easy jaunt to the middle for Montgomery and Moore counties. How far can we go before christmas???? It's still raining here and I've managed to find plenty to keep me busy today so if someone wants Macon Co today, go for it!

Jct of Appalachian Trail and Otter Creek Rd also known as Tellico Gap Rd. A bit chilly but it is warming up. I have a file tag for Madison Co so I'll post it up a little later. Wesser Bald is 1.4 miles up that trail.

I took this picture a couple years ago when I got Bruced by Aarrff in the NCTOR game. This is the town that always comes to mind when I think of Madison County. This town was warm before it became hot. A large resort was built here by James Patton of Asheville which drew countless tourists in the 19th century. The resort became an internment camp for German WWI POWS. Shouldn't be too hard to find but don't look for any Women from France if you go down to the river though you might see some rafts in the summer.

Has anyone noticed that the ABC Tag has moved to Madison Co? I had hoped with today's beautiful weather, someone would have made a run for it.

Madison Co. isn't the problem......it's the move to Martin Co.

If it is not moved before christmas I am going to try to grab it and take it east for a double grab with the NC state tag and bring the NC back west at the same time so we will have a tag to play with in the foothills. If someone wants to join up right after christmas we'll move it out and back in one swoop.

I would love to join you but the family is headed to WI (wifes homeland) for Christmas. House won't be empty though. My 21 year old who's a black belt in kung fu and works security for Harah's Cherokee Casino will be staying behind just in case anyone thought it would be an easy target.

I guess he'll be home for for the holidays after all. since you brought that up, ain't no way he'll be goin anywhere any time soon. but, if you do, leave your bike keys with your son. I have a couple girlfriends that would love to spend the holidays in the hills and do a little riding and tail , I mean tag chasing.
